Bridge Ministry Missions

Seniors

We  offer a Seniors' Day each Friday from 10am-1pm at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton.  Join us for fellowship, cards, dominoes, etc. in the morning.  A hot lunch is served every week for $3 at noon.  On occasional weeks we also have a workshop after lunch with educational information for seniors and those who care for them.  Contact Pat Alhardt @ 979-421-0972 for more information.

Youth

Each Wednesday evening our area high school youth and sponsors gather at the Burton Elementary School gymnasium for
faith talks, bible study, and games. A simple meal is also offered to the youth. We are looking for host for these meals. If you would like to offer a meal to the youth please contact Lacy Eckert at leckert@stu.burton.isd or call/text her at 979-251-2313.

Helping Hands

We provide assistance with basic home repairs for people in our area who apply for this help.

Community

Our motto is “Bringing Unity to the Community!”  We hold Good Friday services, a Thanksgiving Meal/Worship, and other events throughout the year that provide times to build relationships and enjoy the great life of living in Burton together.

Community Ministry Spring planting season is upon us! The Burton Bridge Ministry community garden team will be preparing to plant and complete other projects as we head into our first full spring season of growing fresh vegetables and fruits for our food pantry. We are looking for volunteers to help with planting, watering, and harvesting. If you enjoy gardening and have 30 minutes or an hour to help the garden grow please contact Tressie Roark at tressieroark@yahoo.com

The Corner Shoppe

We have opened a resale store at 601 N. Main Street in Burton called The Corner Shoppe.  It is open Thursday-Saturday from 9am-4pm each day.  Here we sell new and gently used home furnishings and gifts.  All proceeds go to support Bridge and our ministry.  Stop on by to shop or to learn more about Burton Bridge Ministry!

Mark your calendars for the reopening of the Store Next Door's 1st Anniversary on March 23rd. Our newest store addition is currently being redecorated for this special occasion.

The Corner Shoppe is collecting "Box Tops for Education" for Burton ISD.  A donation box for your box tops is located at the Corner Shoppe register. Box tops can be found on General Mills cereal boxes and other General Mills products. Each box top helps the school raise 10 cents toward school supplies and technology materials. If you would like to learn more or volunteer to help in any way, please contact Bridge at bridgeministry@gmail.com.

Manna Ministry - Bridge Food Pantry

We offer weekly food assistance to over 50 households each Tuesday morning at the Burton Fire Department #2. We welcome
volunteers to join us from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to help with setting up the pantry.
